DIY: No Sew Fabric Party Bunting

As you already know I am no sewer...that talent was given to my sister, Victoria, of VixenMade..;)
And I was not going to start up my old sewing machine that I had bought years back and fought with. I still cannot thread that thing..pathetic I know but the sewing machine won. I had wanted to include some buntings for my son's birthday but the sewing aspect cut out a few options and no, I was not going to pay a fortune just to buy one premade...I am not rolling in the dough...just a different kind at times :).
This project was one that was very economical as it doesn't require much fabric or materials and the bunting is now part of my son's room decor. It happens to fit in perfectly with the colors in his bedroom.

So here is the tutorial for a no sew bunting.

No Sew Bunting

Supplies Needed:

* Fabric of coordinating colors and patterns
* Scissors
* Iron on adhesive (such as heat n bond),liquid stitch or tacky glue
* Ribbon or Twine

1)Draw a triangle on a piece of cardboard or paper to use as a template or use a flag pattern to cut fabric into flags.
2)Lay out flags in your desired order and length.
3)Take ribbon or twine and using the iron on adhesive or liquid stitch apply to top of the back of each flag.
4)Fold over the top portion of flag over the twine or ribbon.
5)Repeat as you go along the bunting length until all flags are attached.

DIY: Winter Woodland Trees

I stumbled upon a tutorial for cotton ball trees from A Fanciful Twist and loved the snowy effect so much that I included them in my winter woodland dessert table. We actually turned it into a craft project that I completed with the kids. I recommend using white glue and tape rather than the hot glue if including children.
I think we may make some more once the Christmas holidays arrive.

Aren't these just the cutest? I was sent a link to the website, Den's Tutus, Bows and More, and thought these diy tutus would be wonderful for a little girls party. They are a no sew project, which is great because I am not a sewer by any means. There are also a few variations such as extra poufy, reversible and ribbon wrapped waistband tutus.

DIY Holiday Centerpiece

image: allureeventcouncelling.com

One of my go-to ways to decorate for the holiday season is to simply take a few clear vases and fill with ornaments, greenery or cranberries. Or fill the bottom of the vase with artificial snow and top with your favorite ball ornaments. Put a few of these filled vases together for a beautiful centerpiece. So pretty and takes only a few minutes to put together for the holidays.

Glitter Reindeer DIY Decoration

I am all about reindeer. It all began with that adorable little reindeer named Rudolph. To this day it is my all time favorite Christmas special and I could watch it a thousand times before Santa's big day. To create your own take a simple reindeer figurine or toy and cover with glitter. Wouldn't this little deer be great on a holiday table setting or as a centerpiece, or even on a mantle? So cute!
