I love to plan parties for my kids just because it is fun to create a special day for my children. I am sure you feel the same about your beautiful children. You want the best for them and want to celebrate the day they were born and feel so blessed to have them in your life.
But let's be real, we can't be supermom and be stressed up to our eyeballs with party details!
Personally, that is why I usually hire a photographer when I can or let go and buy items premade such as party outfits. Modern Frills, Halo Heaven and Wynter's Wonderland Boutique are a few of my favorite.
It relieves a lot of stress to get a baker to create some fabulous cookies, hire a cake designer to design a cake or purchase personalized party printables...my favorite place for printables is Etsy.
I agree with the sentiments of the article on the Real Simple blog, 'Simply Stated' that "shortcuts are your friend".
Of course, whenever you can, do diy projects and it is essential to be creative but sometimes the handmade route can be a craftastrophe {LOL...you gotta check out that site!}. I would rather not be stressed and get someone else who has the experience to do the work for me.
As everyone knows, plan ahead and create a mood board to keep your ideas together
{ I'm old school and Picasa is my favorite place to keep my ideas together}.
By no means am I saying that I am a party pro but these are just some of my tips to keep things fun and sane during the party planning process. I just need to start getting a house cleaner as well...hee, hee..:)
What are your favorite event styling tips and resources?
